Great Notley Village Fete 2018 - organised by The Notley Green Community AssociationOur 2018 Fete was held on Saturday 14th July on the Village Green and in the Community Centre.
It was lovely to see so many of you enjoying our Village Fete, Classic Car Show and Music Festival. For once the sun shone all day and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. We are pleased to be able to announce that the final total raised from the day was £4,582.64.
The children from Kazen Kai Martial Arts, Rascals Theatre School and White Court Dance all put on superb displays, thoroughly enjoyed by proud parents, relatives and all. There were queues all day long for the free activities (Zorb Balls, Bungee Trampolines and Climbing Wall) kindly sponsored by the Great Notley Parish Council and Ellis Amusements were as popular as ever.
The new classic car show, organised by Steve McLaughlin, was a great addition to the day, providing a variety of vehicles to view. We are hoping to expand on this next year. John White also did a superb job in sourcing and organising the music acts that entertained us from early afternoon until the end of the evening and thanks also to Lily’s of Notley, for sponsoring the Evo Stage to make this possible.
We certainly didn’t go thirsty or hungry with the support of 1st Great Notley Scout Group running their BBQ during the day and The Mystery Ice Machine taking over in the evening. MIM also provided sweet treats and ice creams all day. It was great to have the support of The Prince Louis and McMullens Brewery this year, their Steam Engine Bar certainly added some “atmosphere” to the occasion. The WI Ladies were back with their Pimm’s tent (my personal favourite 😊) and the Garner family provided some wonderful cakes, tea & coffee in their indoor tea room which raised £260 for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
The event is organised by the Notley Green Community Association, but would not be able to take place without the support and help of the following community groups, businesses and individuals, to whom we thank:
